2019 – Is this Your Year?

Can you “feel” the potent energy of deep transformation? Are you in the “creative” flow?

Are you ready to:

  • Chart a new direction and explore different territory to expand your horizons?
  • Re-invent yourself or your work to contribute your spiritual and intellectual resources in bold, creative, dynamic ways?
  • Release the mental and emotional chatter, break through self-imposed limitations and free yourself to be all that you can be?
  • Say “YES” to up-level your leadership, expand your visibility and influence in your career, business or community?
  • Celebrate who you are and what you do because you’re being authentic, doing great work and having fun?

These are some of the questions that I’ve been asking myself as I step into the decade of my 70’s. What is the “new story” that I’m creating?

Given this time in your personal or family life, the challenging state of economic and political affairs and the larger impacts of global climate change, a fundamental “re-assessment may be called for. Even in the dawn of this new year, it may be time to: “Slow Down. Be Still. Get Quiet.”

If you’re ready and willing to do a “re-assessment”, consider one or all three of these suggestions:

  1. Take a Day Away. Spend quality time in nature to shift the energy, breathe fresh air and get a different perspective. Nature has so much to teach us when we avail ourselves to her wisdom.
  1. Make a Gratitude List. Keep writing until you get to 99 things you have to be grateful for…and you can probably name a few more. This changes our view of things.
  1. Lovingly Release. Determine what thoughts, things or people are keeping you stuck, confused or anxious. Lovingly release them and allow the open space to be free of encumbrances. Over time you’ll begin attracting positive empowering energy.

These 3 suggestions are a great start and a great way to shift energy, so that what’s most essential for you and your next steps becomes clear and compelling.

Quite honestly, I’m very encouraged by strong signs of positive change and deep transformation. I see new paradigms of leadership, engagement and community building! I see seeming polarities and divisions creating new alliances and collaborations! I see young people unapologetically stepping up in empowering, resourceful life-affirming ways! The depth and dynamism of our new Congress is indeed evidence of a new day and a new way!

A few more “re-assessment” queries:

  • What is the story I’m creating this year?
  • Who am I being, what am I doing and why?
  • How am I best serving my family, clients/co-workers or community?
  • Am I truly listening to my inner guidance?
  • What help or support do I want at this time?

If you are open to or want support for your “re-assessment”, schedule a complimentary Soul’s Calling Vision Session ($97 value) or Cultivating Leadership Session ($97 value) now at: https://wrightresort.simplybook.me/v2/#book

The Magic of Silence and Stillness Countering the Madness, Settling into Center

What’s all the rushing, hustling, shopping about…the addiction of commercialism and materialism that leads to hoarding and debting?

Ah, the holiday season—from Halloween Trick or Treat to Thanksgiving indulgences; Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Tuesday Giving, Christmas and the-day-after Christmas sales. Even as I write this, I feel exhausted and choose to take deep slow inhalations and exhalations to re-center myself.

For some people it’s quite an effort to remember/resurrect the true meaning of the Holy Days, the Season of Advent. It is indeed a deeply transformational time. It is noted that:

Halloween or All Hallows Eve means All Holy Evening. This is followed by All Saints Day and All Souls Day when the portal between the physical and non-physical is open and there is heightened communion with the ancestors. Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is also celebrated by Latinx communities during this time.

In the Northern Hemisphere, we experience more darkness, as the nights become longer.

During ancient times, many cultures held festivities and various rituals honoring the light. For example, Hanukkah, also called the Jewish Festival of Lights commemorates victory over oppression and rededicating their Temple in Jerusalem. With a small amount of oil, the first candle was lit, and remained lit for eight days—a true demonstration of faith and devotion.

The Winter Solstice occurs o/a December 21. It is the longest night or shortest day, also considered the first day of Winter. Many cultures celebrate the Solstice which is associated with the return of the light or rebirth.

Christmas or Christ-Mass traditionally honored the coming of the Messiah. It is said that early church leaders melded the celebration of Jesus’ nativity with pre-existing Pagan midwinter festivals.

Kwanzaa, or First Fruits is an African American tradition that celebrates 7 principles of cultural wholeness. Family and friends gather and each night a candle is lit to recognize the principle of the day, usually followed by discussion and a sumptuous pot-luck meal.

I’m grateful to be aware and reminded of the true meaning of this Holy Season. Is it any wonder that some people feel cognitive dissonance between the mania of commercialism, high levels of stress, physical and mental exhaustion, contrasted with an inward focus of stillness and silence? To be in sync with the natural world in Winter when nature is more dormant and many animals migrate or hibernate, means that this is a potent time for release and rest, reflection and renewal…the time for rebirthing, to be born anew, welcoming the New Year.

  • In what way can you create more balance and harmony?
  • What must you release emotionally and materially?
  • How are you resting and renewing yourself physically, mentally and spiritually?
  • Who and what are you birthing or bringing into manifestation?
  • How are you choosing to shine your light?
  • In what way will you embrace the New Year?

On Another Note:

To be fully tuned into my heart and soul, and more fully aligned with Spirit, I’m essentially off-line until December 21, the Winter Solstice. I look forward to reconnecting with you during the transition from 2018 to the New Year!

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing during this Holy Season.

Peace,
Harriet

Illuminate Your Soul’s Call-to-Action Now!

The Mid-Term Elections have passed. However, the impact, consequences and opportunities resulting from the outcome will shape the trajectory of this country and the world for generations to come. Hearty Congratulations to all the Women Democrats who won at the local, state and national level! And of necessity, the next phase has begun…

Having expended energy and funds to support candidates and causes, it may be prudent to pause; reflect; refocus efforts and renew yourself before years end. Time off, time out and time in…

Many conscious, successful entrepreneurs, corporate managers and organization leaders have already developed program priorities and financial projections for next year!

If you’ve not done so already, it’s not too late for you to do the same. NOW is a great time to identify your intentions, solidify your commitments and legacy.

  • Where do I want to go from here?
  • How do I want to use my gifts and skills now?
  • What is the best use of my talent(s)?
  • How can I manifest my dreams and desires?
  • In what ways do I want to strengthen my legacy?

Three Tools to Move Forward

Daily Spiritual Practices – Incorporate self-care/soul care practices that include solitude, silence and stillness. This enables you to commune with your true self, listen to inner guidance and relax body, mind and spirit. You can therefore enjoy the refuge of deep awareness, serenity and wholeness.

“When I’m still and silent, I feel the flow of love within that helps me experience harmony and peace in the appearance of chaos.” – Harriet Tubman Wright

Values Assessment – Make a list of the beliefs, people, things that are most important to you; the non-negotiables that help make your life meaningful. Create, review, put the list away for a short time and then make any adjustments, so that the final list reflects what you most value in and about your life.
For example, I value pampering spa retreats!

Get Support – Secure a coach, mentor, advisor, prayer or mastermind partner to help keep you focused; someone with whom to share wins and challenges, celebrate milestones and make appropriate course corrections.
When I work with a mastermind partner or coach, excuses are not accepted.
I’m compelled to follow-through with my intentions and fulfill y commitments.

I welcome the opportunity to move forward with you. Please allow me to guide and support you with a:

Evolving from Self Care to Soul Care

Stress is being out of alignment, balance and coherence by not honoring or expressing your true essence, soul’s calling and innate creativity, a condition that leads to dis-order and dis-ease mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually; and is therefore reflected in your external environment.

Recognizing the grave impact of stress on your health in relationships, finances, livelihood, my work with women initially focused on the importance of incorporating daily self-care practices to help release stress.

Key Self-Care Practices include:

  1. Implementing daily BodyMindSpirit practices such as regular exercise, sound nutrition and proper rest;
  2. Cultivating positive beliefs, thoughts, attitudes, words and behaviors that create healthy empowering results in your life;
  3. Maintaining healthy boundaries by learning when and how to say “No”, “No thank you”, or No, not at this time” without guilt, shame or apology;
  4. Taking “time out” for pampering, play and quality time in nature;
  5. Celebrating wins, successes and achievements.

More recently however, I’ve begun to explore and promote the concept of Soul Care, specifically in relationship to living your purpose and fulfilling your Soul’s Calling.

Your Soul’s Calling is your true essence, divine nature and ultimate purpose. It is remembering, honoring and expressing who you’re meant to be and what you’re born to do. Your Soul’s Calling is the wholeness, authenticity, integrity, and sovereignty that energizes, motivates and sustains you! It is your inheritance and your legacy!

Soul Care is fulfilling your Soul’s Calling; being true to yourself, trusting your intuition and allowing every thought, word and action to evolve from your soul. In this way you maintain alignment, balance, coherence. You emanate peace and bliss!

Soul Care is living your Soul’s Calling doing what you most love in utmost service to people and the planet. Doing so means that you are in the divine flow of being who you’re meant to be and doing what you’re born to do!

  • In what way(s) are you living your Soul’s Calling?
  • What does Soul Care mean to you?
  • How do you describe your contribution(s) to people and the planet?
  • For what are you most proud or content?
  • Is there something different or more that you want to be or do?

Self-Care and Soul Care practices are essential to sustain a purposeful and prosperous life. – Harriet Tubman Wright

Finding Balance during Changing Times

In the Northern Hemisphere we’ve begun the Autumn Season; my second favorite season highlighting nature’s profound, beautiful changes. Seeds of intention were planted at the start of the year, cultivated during the Spring. Some of us enjoyed succulent Summer Fruits, while others look forward to the Autumn Harvest.

Autumn is also a season of letting go. In the same way that trees begin to change creating an awesome array of colorful foliage that eventually falls…red, gold, orange, yellow maple and oak leaves carpeting the earth, we too must let go.

Therefore, as you reflect on this quickly passing year:

  • What intentions have borne fruit, providing joy and satisfaction in our life, family, business or community?
  • In what ways have you adjusted to the unexpected, the surprises or losses?
  • How are you preparing to let go; particularly those people or things that do not serve, nurture or fulfill you?

Change is essential for growth. If we are to grow, we can learn to go with the flow, allowing the lessons along the way to strengthen us. No matter the season or weather of our daily lives, we may sway, climb, dive, bend…If we lose a branch or two in the winds of change, we know that new growth is taking place.

  • How are you experiencing this change of season in your life?
  • Are you willing to let go of something else to allow space for new growth?
  • What harvest do you most want to celebrate this season?

Balancing Actions

Although we’ve officially passed the Autumn Equinox, its still important to acknowledge balance between the feminine and masculine, the sun and moon, movement and stillness…

Therefore, make these 5 self-care & soul-care practices a priority:

  1. Maintain alignment, balance and coherence in BodyMindSpirit through exercise, sound nutrition and proper rest.
  2. Ensure that your external environment supports healthy boundaries by avoiding clutter; maintain order and organization.
  3. Take regular refresh breaks away from your computer to move your body, breathe fresh air outdoors and get a different perspective. You’ll be more clear-headed and more productive when you take refresh breaks to renew yourself.
  4. Learn when and how to say, “No”, “No thank you” or “No, not at this time” without guilt, shame or apology.
  5. Know what you’re responsible for, what’s yours to do and stay in your lane. Avoid trying to do or control anything that is NOT your responsibility, job or task.

Remember, when we take care of ourselves first and model healthy boundaries, we’re better aligned, balanced, focused, enabling us to serve and share our gifts with the world from an ever-flowing wellspring of optimal BodyMindSpirit health and well-being.

Enjoy this season in balance, wholeness and joy!

Changing Times, Changing Perspectives, Changing Lives

Change is always happening. However, over several years, change has been deepening, accelerating and intensifying. These “shocks” to our humanity and our environment are unsettling.

As a consequence, my emotions have been cycling from rage, resignation to deep sadness. It’s been essential to feel the feelings before I could accept that the extremes of fear, violence and destruction showing up locally and globally, and what’s coming up personally are connected. These inner and outer experiences are also being revealed to be healed. Framing changing conditions in this way has allowed me to accept:

  • Things get worse before they get better
  • This too shall pass

“The greatest revolution in our generation is that of human beings, who by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.” – Marilyn Ferguson

Therefore, change is a matter of perspective, our beliefs and attitudes.

How are you responding to or coping with change?

Besides the ways that you pray or meditate, spending quality time in nature is essential to restore your sense of balance, wonder and appreciation. I have found that when I’m at the ocean, I’m rejuvenated as the waves carry my worries away. If I’m in the forest, the wisdom of the trees renews me.

For some of you, communing with Mother Earth through gardening helps restore a sense of peace, whether it’s cultivating plants, flowers or food. It has actually been therapeutic for me.

  • Do you take time to revel in nature?
  • When were you recently at the ocean, a lake or waterfall?
  • Where is your favorite nature environment?
  • What is most refreshing for you?

Quality time in community is also especially important at this time. The bonding and connection that occurs from sharing stories, convening ritual and co-creating meaningful actions, as well as collaborating with other groups or communities often provides a safe refuge, and opportunity for mutual support and encouragement.

Another way to cope is to share your time and talent at sites that serve seniors, youth, animals or volunteer at libraries or schools. Volunteering to work on local, state or national campaigns for the upcoming mid-term elections may be a helpful outlet.

How Are You Co-Creating Change?

“We are wired for change and change equals transformation.” – Rev David Ault

Change is indeed a matter of perspective. You have the capacity and responsibility to co-create the change, transformation or revolution that you want. I consciously align with my deepest values of freedom, justice and peace from a heart space knowing that:

  • Love is the answer
  • We are truly one
  • Everything comes together for good.

“Creators of WORLDS are not trying to fix problems. Creators of worlds identify what is not wanted for a split second, and then imagine and feel what is wanted for eternity.” – Abraham Hicks, The Law of Attraction

In conclusion, we are creators of our lives and creators of our worlds. You and I have the power to co-create what we want. What do you want to create for eternity?
