Farewell 2018, Welcome 2019

Farewell 2018, Welcome 2019

New Year Blessings and Greetings. As you reflect on the past year,

  • Identify an experience that challenged or stretched you.
  • What was a significant lesson or insight?
  • For what are you most grateful?

I’m most grateful for quality time with family and friends, particularly my Village Family, Spiritual Family, Conscious Evolution Family, Business Mastermind Family and Birth Family. I’m grateful for good health and financial growth as well as the spiritual, social, cultural, business and political engagements that challenged, delighted, stretched and grew me in myriad ways!

2018 marked the 10th Anniversary of The Wright Resort, founded as a BodyMindSpirit Wellness Center serving mature women, now Your Soul Safari to Success, dedicated to Feminine Leadership and Social Consciousness. A few 2018 highlights:

EMBRACING 2019

Some astrologers and numerologists describe 2019 as a 3 Universal Number, the vibration of creative self-expression, optimism and authentic communication; exploring new ideas and terrain, shining our light through the darkness. Qualities of connection, collaboration and cosmic clean-up are also noted!

In the tradition of the Dagara Medicine Wheel, 2019 is a Mineral Year characterized by communication, story-telling, purpose, memory, particularly remembering your purpose in life. It is the storage place of memory…principle of creativity…resources…stories and symbolism. We carry the memories in our bones. The color is white.

  • What excites you most about the New Year?
  • Identify 2-3 intentions that you want to fulfill.
  • In what ways will you evolve or expand your work in the world?
  • How will you know that you lived your highest and best this year?
  • What is the word or phrase that best describes your attitude or feeling about this year?  Or, what is your theme for 2019?

For me, 2019 ushers in the 70’s decade. To celebrate, I’ll embark on the Kemet Nu – Know Thyself, From Cairo to Nubia Educational Tour, July 6 – 20. I was already psychically there with my 1988 Master’s Thesis, The Mystic Marriage: Ancient Egyptian Wisdom as Creation-Centered Spirituality. Now actually being there later this year is another “Rites of Passage” for which I’m deeply grateful.

It is also my intention to publish my 3rd book of poetry, ALWAYS LOVE, completing the trilogy of THEN LOVE and NOW LOVE.

Furthermore, I envision being in my Wright and Perfect Home Sanctuary…and who knows, it could even be with my right and perfect Compatible Companion!

Let’s maintain and deepen our connection this year. I encourage you to share your aspirations, intentions and commitments, so that we can mutually support one another!

Life is what you make it! You create your life beginning with the thoughts you think, the words you speak and the actions you take. What kind of life are you creating? One of limitation or liberation; one of poverty or prosperity; one of stress or success? The choice is yours…to make it a mediocre or magnificent life! – Harriet Tubman Wright

If you’ve not set or clarified your intentions for 2019 or you want to transform your life from mediocre to magnificent, and are open to support, I’m happy to work with you one-to-one or as part of a Seeding Intentions Group, during the week of January 14. Please sign-up now for a Seeding Success Session at: https://wrightresort.simplybook.me/ and we can determine what’s most suitable to launch your success with faith, enthusiasm, clarity and commitment!

Peace and Blessings,
Harriet

The Magic of Silence and Stillness Countering the Madness, Settling into Center

What’s all the rushing, hustling, shopping about…the addiction of commercialism and materialism that leads to hoarding and debting?

Ah, the holiday season—from Halloween Trick or Treat to Thanksgiving indulgences; Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Tuesday Giving, Christmas and the-day-after Christmas sales. Even as I write this, I feel exhausted and choose to take deep slow inhalations and exhalations to re-center myself.

For some people it’s quite an effort to remember/resurrect the true meaning of the Holy Days, the Season of Advent. It is indeed a deeply transformational time. It is noted that:

Halloween or All Hallows Eve means All Holy Evening. This is followed by All Saints Day and All Souls Day when the portal between the physical and non-physical is open and there is heightened communion with the ancestors. Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is also celebrated by Latinx communities during this time.

In the Northern Hemisphere, we experience more darkness, as the nights become longer.

During ancient times, many cultures held festivities and various rituals honoring the light. For example, Hanukkah, also called the Jewish Festival of Lights commemorates victory over oppression and rededicating their Temple in Jerusalem. With a small amount of oil, the first candle was lit, and remained lit for eight days—a true demonstration of faith and devotion.

The Winter Solstice occurs o/a December 21. It is the longest night or shortest day, also considered the first day of Winter. Many cultures celebrate the Solstice which is associated with the return of the light or rebirth.

Christmas or Christ-Mass traditionally honored the coming of the Messiah. It is said that early church leaders melded the celebration of Jesus’ nativity with pre-existing Pagan midwinter festivals.

Kwanzaa, or First Fruits is an African American tradition that celebrates 7 principles of cultural wholeness. Family and friends gather and each night a candle is lit to recognize the principle of the day, usually followed by discussion and a sumptuous pot-luck meal.

I’m grateful to be aware and reminded of the true meaning of this Holy Season. Is it any wonder that some people feel cognitive dissonance between the mania of commercialism, high levels of stress, physical and mental exhaustion, contrasted with an inward focus of stillness and silence? To be in sync with the natural world in Winter when nature is more dormant and many animals migrate or hibernate, means that this is a potent time for release and rest, reflection and renewal…the time for rebirthing, to be born anew, welcoming the New Year.

  • In what way can you create more balance and harmony?
  • What must you release emotionally and materially?
  • How are you resting and renewing yourself physically, mentally and spiritually?
  • Who and what are you birthing or bringing into manifestation?
  • How are you choosing to shine your light?
  • In what way will you embrace the New Year?

On Another Note:

To be fully tuned into my heart and soul, and more fully aligned with Spirit, I’m essentially off-line until December 21, the Winter Solstice. I look forward to reconnecting with you during the transition from 2018 to the New Year!

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing during this Holy Season.

Peace,
Harriet

Evolving from Self Care to Soul Care

Stress is being out of alignment, balance and coherence by not honoring or expressing your true essence, soul’s calling and innate creativity, a condition that leads to dis-order and dis-ease mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually; and is therefore reflected in your external environment.

Recognizing the grave impact of stress on your health in relationships, finances, livelihood, my work with women initially focused on the importance of incorporating daily self-care practices to help release stress.

Key Self-Care Practices include:

  1. Implementing daily BodyMindSpirit practices such as regular exercise, sound nutrition and proper rest;
  2. Cultivating positive beliefs, thoughts, attitudes, words and behaviors that create healthy empowering results in your life;
  3. Maintaining healthy boundaries by learning when and how to say “No”, “No thank you”, or No, not at this time” without guilt, shame or apology;
  4. Taking “time out” for pampering, play and quality time in nature;
  5. Celebrating wins, successes and achievements.

More recently however, I’ve begun to explore and promote the concept of Soul Care, specifically in relationship to living your purpose and fulfilling your Soul’s Calling.

Your Soul’s Calling is your true essence, divine nature and ultimate purpose. It is remembering, honoring and expressing who you’re meant to be and what you’re born to do. Your Soul’s Calling is the wholeness, authenticity, integrity, and sovereignty that energizes, motivates and sustains you! It is your inheritance and your legacy!

Soul Care is fulfilling your Soul’s Calling; being true to yourself, trusting your intuition and allowing every thought, word and action to evolve from your soul. In this way you maintain alignment, balance, coherence. You emanate peace and bliss!

Soul Care is living your Soul’s Calling doing what you most love in utmost service to people and the planet. Doing so means that you are in the divine flow of being who you’re meant to be and doing what you’re born to do!

  • In what way(s) are you living your Soul’s Calling?
  • What does Soul Care mean to you?
  • How do you describe your contribution(s) to people and the planet?
  • For what are you most proud or content?
  • Is there something different or more that you want to be or do?

Self-Care and Soul Care practices are essential to sustain a purposeful and prosperous life. – Harriet Tubman Wright

Finding Balance during Changing Times

In the Northern Hemisphere we’ve begun the Autumn Season; my second favorite season highlighting nature’s profound, beautiful changes. Seeds of intention were planted at the start of the year, cultivated during the Spring. Some of us enjoyed succulent Summer Fruits, while others look forward to the Autumn Harvest.

Autumn is also a season of letting go. In the same way that trees begin to change creating an awesome array of colorful foliage that eventually falls…red, gold, orange, yellow maple and oak leaves carpeting the earth, we too must let go.

Therefore, as you reflect on this quickly passing year:

  • What intentions have borne fruit, providing joy and satisfaction in our life, family, business or community?
  • In what ways have you adjusted to the unexpected, the surprises or losses?
  • How are you preparing to let go; particularly those people or things that do not serve, nurture or fulfill you?

Change is essential for growth. If we are to grow, we can learn to go with the flow, allowing the lessons along the way to strengthen us. No matter the season or weather of our daily lives, we may sway, climb, dive, bend…If we lose a branch or two in the winds of change, we know that new growth is taking place.

  • How are you experiencing this change of season in your life?
  • Are you willing to let go of something else to allow space for new growth?
  • What harvest do you most want to celebrate this season?

Balancing Actions

Although we’ve officially passed the Autumn Equinox, its still important to acknowledge balance between the feminine and masculine, the sun and moon, movement and stillness…

Therefore, make these 5 self-care & soul-care practices a priority:

  1. Maintain alignment, balance and coherence in BodyMindSpirit through exercise, sound nutrition and proper rest.
  2. Ensure that your external environment supports healthy boundaries by avoiding clutter; maintain order and organization.
  3. Take regular refresh breaks away from your computer to move your body, breathe fresh air outdoors and get a different perspective. You’ll be more clear-headed and more productive when you take refresh breaks to renew yourself.
  4. Learn when and how to say, “No”, “No thank you” or “No, not at this time” without guilt, shame or apology.
  5. Know what you’re responsible for, what’s yours to do and stay in your lane. Avoid trying to do or control anything that is NOT your responsibility, job or task.

Remember, when we take care of ourselves first and model healthy boundaries, we’re better aligned, balanced, focused, enabling us to serve and share our gifts with the world from an ever-flowing wellspring of optimal BodyMindSpirit health and well-being.

Enjoy this season in balance, wholeness and joy!

Approaching Autumn with Apprehension and/or Appreciation

“These times call for us to break free from mental and emotional bondage; make use of our finest talents to help liberate ourselves and those we serve. This is also the call of our individual and collective soul to be healed, whole and healthy.”   – Harriet Tubman Wright

It’s been another challenging year for many of us. We’ve encountered unprecedented political mayhem, intensified weather catastrophes, heartbreaking losses, heart-warming wins and more. Very few if any of us are coming through this year unscathed! We’ve resisted, endured, risked and triumphed. Yet, there is more to come…

  • For what are you most proud?
  • In what ways have you been victorious?
  • What have you yet to complete or achieve?

Approaching the final quarter is a good time to assess how and where you’ve been.

  • Have I met my milestones?
  • Do I need to adjust my priorities?
  • How can I ensure my success?

Not only can you course-correct or bring closure to some of your projects, but you can also begin to establish your priorities or frame your commitments for the new year and beyond.

  • What are you willing to be or do differently?
  • Is there something vital that you’ve been denying or postponing?
  • Do you feel compelled to do something else, and if so, what?

Although these questions are thought-provoking, I’m listening to my heart and soul to respond. I encourage you to do so as well.

Fulfilling your commitments can be challenging; staying in your comfort zone or maintaining familiar habits creates a false illusion of security. Holding yourself accountable and seeking the right help or support can make the difference between you falling short or succeeding.

Each of us are called to Show Up, Stand Up, Step Up and Rise Up, in courageous, creative ways with like-hearted people to transform our challenges into inspiring opportunities on a personal and global level. We are the ones who must co-create the world that we want for ourselves, our children, grandchildren and seven generations beyond…It’s vital that we co-create it now!

Allow me to support you to stay focused, maintain healthy boundaries, fulfill your commitments and cross the end-of-year finish line triumphantly. Together, let’s identify next steps to your highest soul expression and success with a complimentary Soul’s Calling Vision Session (SVCS). Learn more about benefits of this 45-minute phone SVCS and schedule HERE. I look forward to co-creating a fruitful here and now together!

PS- Dear Friends in the Southern Hemisphere, I realize you’re approaching your Spring Season!

Changing Times, Changing Perspectives, Changing Lives

Change is always happening. However, over several years, change has been deepening, accelerating and intensifying. These “shocks” to our humanity and our environment are unsettling.

As a consequence, my emotions have been cycling from rage, resignation to deep sadness. It’s been essential to feel the feelings before I could accept that the extremes of fear, violence and destruction showing up locally and globally, and what’s coming up personally are connected. These inner and outer experiences are also being revealed to be healed. Framing changing conditions in this way has allowed me to accept:

  • Things get worse before they get better
  • This too shall pass

“The greatest revolution in our generation is that of human beings, who by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.” – Marilyn Ferguson

Therefore, change is a matter of perspective, our beliefs and attitudes.

How are you responding to or coping with change?

Besides the ways that you pray or meditate, spending quality time in nature is essential to restore your sense of balance, wonder and appreciation. I have found that when I’m at the ocean, I’m rejuvenated as the waves carry my worries away. If I’m in the forest, the wisdom of the trees renews me.

For some of you, communing with Mother Earth through gardening helps restore a sense of peace, whether it’s cultivating plants, flowers or food. It has actually been therapeutic for me.

  • Do you take time to revel in nature?
  • When were you recently at the ocean, a lake or waterfall?
  • Where is your favorite nature environment?
  • What is most refreshing for you?

Quality time in community is also especially important at this time. The bonding and connection that occurs from sharing stories, convening ritual and co-creating meaningful actions, as well as collaborating with other groups or communities often provides a safe refuge, and opportunity for mutual support and encouragement.

Another way to cope is to share your time and talent at sites that serve seniors, youth, animals or volunteer at libraries or schools. Volunteering to work on local, state or national campaigns for the upcoming mid-term elections may be a helpful outlet.

How Are You Co-Creating Change?

“We are wired for change and change equals transformation.” – Rev David Ault

Change is indeed a matter of perspective. You have the capacity and responsibility to co-create the change, transformation or revolution that you want. I consciously align with my deepest values of freedom, justice and peace from a heart space knowing that:

  • Love is the answer
  • We are truly one
  • Everything comes together for good.

“Creators of WORLDS are not trying to fix problems. Creators of worlds identify what is not wanted for a split second, and then imagine and feel what is wanted for eternity.” – Abraham Hicks, The Law of Attraction

In conclusion, we are creators of our lives and creators of our worlds. You and I have the power to co-create what we want. What do you want to create for eternity?

I’d love to know what we might co-create together? Please share your ideas below!
